Spade - 1
Rototiller - 0
Harold did not bring his rototiller down from White Rock by 9:00 a.m., so
I began digging the manure in with a spade. After six hours, I had
completed 3/4 of the garden. Then, Harold drove in with his rototiller.
I asked him to show me how the rototiller worked. It didn't. When the
rotating tines hit the soil, they slowed down and stopped. Harold said
my soil was too soft. I though he was trying to be humorous, but he was
serious.
I finished the garden with the spade, but it was a mighty long day and my
back is killing me. I think I'll sleep in today.
